We are so excited to announce the opening of our Community Fridge.
Wondering how it works, what you do, how to donate? Well…
Every Tuesday we get surplus, short-date, fresh food from Aldi. All different things, courgettes, parsnips, cauliflowers, bread, apples, potatoes etc. We load our fridge up with all of these donations and just like that, it is free to take! If you wish to make a financial donation upon visiting, we can make that available to you however this is not necessary. We are wanting to reduce food waste in our town and hope that our Community Fridge can help with vision.
Anyone, yes anyone, can come by and see what we have. All you need to bring is a carrier bag to take your goods home with you.
Anyone can also donate! if you’re going on holiday but have some fresh produce in your fridge that is too good to throw away, bring it to us!
While we do want to reduce food waste, we cannot take items that have been cut, half eaten or going mouldy/squishy.
It is available to use when the Centre in open, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 10:30-12:30. We look forward to welcoming you!
