Ideas for the summer holidays

Here are some ideas of free or low-cost activities in Romsey to do with your children over the summer holidays:
Tuesdays 11 to 11:30 at Romsey library – storytime for under 5’s and their parent/carer (free)
Tuesdays 11 to 1pm at Romsey library – story and craft for children and their parent/carer (free)
Thursdays 11 to 11:30 at Romsey library – Rhyme time for under 0-4s (free)
Throughout the summer:
Take a picnic and try a different play park each day to see which you like the best, for example,
– behind Romsey Rapids
– in the Memorial Park
– Woodley
– Abbotswood

Romsey rainbow rocks (free) – take part in a “hide and seek” for painted rocks hidden around town
At Romsey library, take part in the Reading Challenge (free)
Sat 19th to Mon 28th August 10:30 to 6pm: Christine’s Art House, 2 Albany Road – loads to see including children’s treasure hunt and teas. All for free. See posters around town or her web page
You’ll need a car for these:
Tuesday 15 August 10.30am – 11.30am at Testwood Lakes Visitor Centre (free) – investigate owl pellets (6yrs +)
Places are limited and must be booked in advance
Tuesday 22 August 2017 11.00 at Totton Library (free) stories and crafts about the Romans. (5yrs+)
Not free, but low cost
World of Water on Greatbridge Road: buy food for the ducks and fish
Crazy golf next to the Rapids
Mondays and Thursdays at Frankies Fun Factory:
10:30 – Jiggy Mixed – £4 per family – Older siblings welcome
11:15 – Jiggy Babies – £3
FREE softplay after each session (BUT children of 5 years+ will need to pay for softplay: £5.95)
